RSF demands special package, local jobs for Badvel industrial growth

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Badvel – Andhra Pradesh: The RSF has urged the state government to announce a special industrial development package for Badvel constituency and ensure 70 per cent of employment for local youth in the Century Plywood industry, arguing that promised opportunities have not materialised.

Call for industrial expansion in Badvel

At a meeting of RSF Badvel division leaders held on the premises of the local MEO office, RSF State President DM Obulesh Yadav said Badvel is well-suited for industrial development, with adequate government land, water resources, and favourable conditions. He demanded that the government take immediate steps to attract industries to the region and create employment for local youth.

Failure to provide promised local jobs alleged

RSF leaders criticized the previous government for failing to ensure 70 per cent of local employment in the Century Plywood industry, despite giving such assurances at the time of its establishment. They alleged that most of the initial jobs were given to workers from other states, while locals—many of whom had given land for the project—were restricted to low-level positions.

Warning of protest if local hiring not ensured

RSF leaders stated that if the industry does not immediately provide jobs to local candidates, they will launch protests and lay siege to the factory. They stressed that the livelihoods of poor families should not be undermined in the name of industrial development.

Demand to reclaim encroached government lands

The federation also alleged that thousands of acres of government land in the Badvel area have been encroached upon. RSF demanded that the state government recover these lands and use them to establish employment-generating industries for educated unemployed youth in the region.

District Working President C Vamsi, Badvel Constituency President Venkata Subbaiah, Secretary Mahendra, and members Akash, Akhila, Pawan, Manikantha and others participated in the meeting.
