Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: The demand for house plots for the deserving poor gained renewed urgency on Wednesday, as Rayalaseema Communist Party leaders called on the coalition government to address rising poverty and ensure secure housing for all eligible families.
Demand for housing support strengthens
Rayalaseema Communist Party Chintakommadinne Mandal Secretary Madagalam Prasad said the government must prioritize allocating house plots to all deserving poor families. Speaking at a registration and distribution program held in Indiranagar, he stressed that owning a home remains a fundamental aspiration for every family and a key measure of social security.
Poverty, joblessness fuel dependence on government schemes
Prasad pointed out that poverty is worsening across the country and governments have failed to generate adequate employment. Instead, he said, administrations are increasingly relying on welfare freebies to mask deeper systemic issues. He added that this has forced people to depend on the state for essential needs like rice, housing plots, and approvals, often resulting in long rounds of government offices.
Call for mass protest on December 16
Urging collective action, Prasad announced that a large-scale agitation will be held at the Municipal Corporation office on December 16, demanding house plots for all eligible families. He appealed to the public to participate in large numbers to push forward the dream of owning a home.
Community participation
Local leaders and residents including Ravi, Shadrak, Balaswamy, and Ramanjaneyulu took part in the program, expressing solidarity with the demand for secure housing for the poor.
