RCP urges end to open defecation in Putlampalli

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Members of the Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) called upon residents of Putlampalli to stop defecating in the open and maintain cleanliness in the area to prevent diseases and promote local development.

Awareness drive held at Putlampalli tank bund

On Thursday, RCP City Executive Committee Member Madagalam Prasad led an awareness campaign at the Putlampalli tank embankment, displaying placards reading, “Do not defecate in the open – Let us use toilets, stay healthy, and keep surroundings clean.”

Health hazards of open defecation highlighted

Addressing the gathering, Prasad warned that open defecation pollutes the environment and water sources, leading to the spread of deadly diseases such as diarrhea, vomiting, and jaundice. He urged people to develop hygienic habits for their own safety and the well-being of the community.

Call for development of Putlampalli area

Prasad emphasized that the Putlampalli tank bund has the potential to become a local landmark if properly developed. He suggested the installation of statues of Rayalaseema leaders, poets, and writers, planting of shade trees, setting up of benches, and installation of electric lights to beautify the area.

Appeal to authorities and public cooperation

He noted that the RCP had already submitted petitions to district authorities seeking the development of the tank bund. He urged the concerned departments to conduct awareness programs on the dangers of open defecation and sought public cooperation in transforming Putlampalli into a clean and green zone.

RCP activists Vijay, Vinod, Kondayya, Ajith, and several residents joined the awareness program, pledging their support for cleanliness and sustainable development in the area.
