Hyderabad: Leaders of the SC Anti-Classification Struggle Committee and Mala Mahanadu Netakani Mahar staged a protest on Wednesday at the Ambedkar statue near Tank Bund Liberty Center, Hyderabad. They burned copies of the Assembly resolution supporting SC classification and accused the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government of betraying Dalit interests.
Protest against SC classification
The demonstrators raised slogans against the government, denouncing the resolution as a political ploy. They argued that the classification of Scheduled Castes (SC) based on the 2011 census lacked proper data and was a deliberate move to divide the community.

Call for mass resistance
Leaders Vadlamuri Krishna Swarup and Gavvala Srikanth along with other leaders, urged the SC community to protest against all political parties supporting the classification. They vowed to challenge the resolution in higher courts and block its implementation.
Allegations against Congress leadership
The protesters criticized Mala leaders aligned with Congress, accusing them of compromising Dalit interests. They called for sustained protests across the state and urged the Dalit community to resist political betrayal.
Among those who participated were Supreme Court advocate and Mala Mahanadu National Honorary President Sampu Srinivas, SC ST Advocate Forum Telangana State Working President Maddila Rayappanayakudu, and several other Dalit rights activists.
The protest signals growing opposition within Dalit groups against the SC classification policy and the state government’s handling of the issue.
