Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, best known for his iconic role as Karna in B.R. Chopra’s legendary TV show Mahabharat, has passed away at the age of 68. The actor reportedly breathed his last at his Mumbai residence after a prolonged illness, leaving behind a legacy of powerful performances and millions of heartbroken fans.

Pankaj Dheer became a household name in the late 1980s for his remarkable portrayal of Karna, one of the most complex and emotional characters in Mahabharat. Apart from television, he also appeared in several Bollywood films like Sadak, Baadshah, Zahreelay, and Soldier, and worked in many Hindi serials.

His son, Nikitin Dheer, who has acted in movies such as Chennai Express and Shershaah, expressed deep sorrow over his father’s passing. In a heartfelt statement, Nikitin said, “It’s very hard to move on. My father was my hero, my guide, and my greatest inspiration.”
