‘Planting trees vital for human survival’

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Chinna Orumpadu – Andhra Pradesh: Stressing the urgent need to protect nature, Shanti Seva Society Founder Madagalam Prasad urged people to plant trees in large numbers, highlighting their critical role in ensuring human health and survival.

Call for tree plantation in memory of Kandaiah

Prasad attended the memorial service of Ayuri Kandaiah in Chinna Orumpadu, where he presented a sapling to the bereaved family. He said planting trees in memory of loved ones was a meaningful way to honour them while contributing to the environment.

Trees and health are interlinked

“Earlier, when there were many trees and fewer people, human beings lived a hundred years in good health,” Prasad noted. “Now, as trees are disappearing and the population has surged, diseases are multiplying. Every person must plant at least ten trees to ensure a healthy future,” he emphasized.

Six years of environmental and social service

Highlighting the activities of Shanti Seva Society, Prasad said the organization has been distributing trees and conducting awareness seminars on the importance of greenery for the last six years. The society also extends services to the poor, orphans, the elderly, and students through various welfare programs.

Jayachandra, society members, and relatives joined the program, lending support to the message of sustainable living and environmental protection.
