YHAI stresses trekking for health and global exposure

Guntur – Andhra Pradesh: Trekking fosters excellent physical and mental health while offering a deeper connection with nature and the universe, said Dr. K Kondaiah, Chairman of the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI), Guntur Unit, at the unit’s general meeting on Sunday. The meeting was presided over by Unit President Chandrashekhar at TJPS College.
Trekking builds fitness and mental Strength
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Kondaiah stressed that trekking strengthens both body and mind. “Healthy young men, women, and anyone who takes to trekking can achieve physical fitness, mental clarity, and an intimate bond with the universe,” he said.
Youth urged to embrace trekking for health and growth
He urged young men and women to cultivate trekking as a habit, pointing out that those living in artificial, polluted environments can discover a “new world” through such experiences.
Trekking connects people with Nature and inner happiness
Dr. Kondaiah highlighted that trekking introduces people to fresh air, clean water, greenery, and the sounds of birds and animals — all of which bring indescribable mental happiness and peace.
YHAI membership opens doors to global trekking experiences
Explaining the opportunities available through YHAI, he said the organization is affiliated with the International Trekking Federation. Members can access global trekking experiences by enrolling in one-year, two-year, or lifetime memberships.
YHAI to expand trekking clubs in Guntur colleges soon
Dr. Kondaiah announced that YHAI has already partnered with Lotus, TJPS, and KLU educational institutions. Soon, trekking associations for students and teachers will be formed in collaboration with college management across the district.
The meeting saw participation from YHAI Guntur Unit Vice President Janaki, Kesava Rao, Organizing Secretaries Gunaranjan and Bhanu, Joint Secretary Srilatha, Membership In-charge Mallikarjuna Rao, Treasurer Sudhakar, along with several other members.
