New Delhi: National Award-winning film Chalo Jeete Hain—a cinematic tribute to Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of living for others—is set for a special re-release across India from September 17 to October 2, 2025. Screenings will be held in lakhs of schools and nearly 500 cinema halls nationwide, including PVRInox, Cinepolis, Rajhans, and Miraj.

Honouring silent heroes

The re-release marks the launch of the ‘Chalo Jeete Hain: Seva Ka Sanman’ initiative. Under this program, watchmen, cleaning staff, drivers, peons, and other “Silent Heroes” of daily life will be honoured in schools. Students will watch the film alongside them, followed by felicitation ceremonies, aiming to inspire respect and gratitude toward those who serve quietly.

A childhood lesson of service

The film draws inspiration from a childhood incident in the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It tells the story of young Naru, who, influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teaching, learns that true success lies in serving others and strives to apply that lesson in his small world.

Producers highlight larger impact

“This movement carries a deeply powerful message. It will inspire millions of young minds about valuing and respecting every work and each individual,” said producer Mahaveer Jain. “Through this film, we hope to ignite a spark in youth, encouraging them to live a life of purpose and contribute positively to society,” he added.

A continuing legacy

Winner of the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film on Family Values, Chalo Jeete Hain was directed by Mangesh Hadawale and presented by Aanand L Rai and Mahaveer Jain. Since its 2018 release, the film has remained among the most viewed short films in India.

Carrying Vivekananda’s message forward

With its re-release, the film seeks to reach a new generation, reinforcing selflessness, empathy, and duty to the nation. The school screenings are expected to play a pivotal role, ensuring that young viewers embrace these values and carry forward the timeless message of service to society.
