Nirmal – Telangana: At a press conference in Nirmal district on Wednesday, Republican Party of India (RPI B R Ambedkar) state leaders demanded urgent fertilizer supply and housing relief for farmers and families affected by heavy rains.
Farmers face double crisis
RPI State President Dr. Gali Vinod Kumar said that while rains have destroyed houses in villages and towns and submerged standing crops, farmers are now facing another crisis. “When they go to fertilizer shops to save their remaining crops, they cannot even find urea,” he said.
Criticism of Centre’s response
He accused the BJP-led central government of neglecting its responsibility. “If farmers are in such desperate conditions, the Centre should have ensured fertilizer stocks in advance, instead of doing politics,” he remarked.
Demands for relief and compensation
The leaders demanded immediate fertilizer release, sanction of Indramma houses for families who lost their homes, and compensation without political bias to all rain-affected farmers.
The press meet was addressed by State President Dr. Gali Vinod Kumar, Telangana and Andhra In-charge Dr. Major Chandrakanth, and State General Secretary Gavvala Srikanth. They were joined by RPI Muslim Minority Wing State President Yajaz Hussain, Buddhist Wing State President Ashok Chintore, General Secretary Ganesh Kamble, and other committee members.
