Singareni CMD urged to act on corruption and job scams

Telangana: A delegation from the Telangana SC, ST, BC, Minority Students’ Youth Association met Singareni CMD N Balaram Nayak, submitting a detailed petition demanding urgent reforms, transparency in recruitment, and action against alleged corruption affecting workers, students, and outsourcing practices.
Support for C for Action Against Misleading Agents
The association expressed full support for the Singareni CMD’s efforts in protecting workers’ rights, while demanding strict punishment for intermediaries allegedly collecting huge sums from workers through false promises. They urged workers not to trust misleading agents and encouraged direct engagement with the CMD for grievance redressal.
Demand for clean-up in outsourcing and contract hiring
Concerns were raised over unqualified outsourcing agencies and civil contractors securing tenders without proper credentials, aided by internal collusion. The association demanded that such agencies be removed and replaced with transparent, merit-based systems. A proposal was made to form a special corporation for contract and outsourcing workers from marginalized communities.
Alleged irregularities in private security recruitment
The petition highlighted allegations of advance bribes taken for private security posts in Kothagudem. It demanded cancellation of tenders, blacklisting of the concerned agency, and issuance of a fresh notification ensuring fair recruitment without middlemen.
Appeals for reforms in Singareni Educational Institutions
The delegation called for a thorough review of administration in Singareni-run educational institutions, alleging poor governance, fee collection in violation of prior directives, and lack of basic facilities. They demanded appointment of a qualified principal for the women’s degree college and expansion of support for poor and marginalized students, including computer labs, spoken English training, and fully free education.
Investigation into alleged misconduct
The petition urged an impartial probe into administrative misconduct within the educational institutions, especially regarding allegations of financial irregularities and intimidation. It called for transparency, accountability, and the removal of officials facing vigilance cases or accused of malpractice.
Other key demands
Job quotas for disabled: The delegation urged for dedicated recruitment of persons with disabilities in Singareni.
One-time settlement for VRS dependents: A proposal was made to provide employment or settlement to dependents of employees who took voluntary retirement, particularly those impacted by past state decisions.
Assurance of continued support
The association reiterated its commitment to working constructively with the CMD for the welfare of workers and students across Singareni and urged swift action on the submitted demands for systemic reform and justice.
