Haryana Congress Worker Found Dead in Suitcase

Editorial

Haryana:- The body of 22-year-old Congress worker Himani Narwal was discovered inside a suitcase near the Sampla bus stand in Rohtak, Haryana. Passersby noticed the abandoned suitcase and alerted local authorities. Upon arrival, police and forensic teams found Narwal’s body with a dupatta wrapped around her neck and mehendi on her hands, suggesting possible strangulation.

Narwal, a resident of Rohtak’s Vijay Nagar area, was actively involved in the Congress party and had participated in events such as Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra. Her social media profiles feature photographs with prominent party figures, including former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and MLA BB Batra.

The discovery of her body has prompted strong reactions from Congress leaders. Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed deep sorrow over the incident, labeling it a “barbaric murder” and a “blot on the law and order situation of the state.” He has called for a high-level, impartial investigation to ensure justice for Narwal’s family and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Similarly, MLA BB Batra has demanded the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case thoroughly. He highlighted Narwal’s active participation in party programs and emphasized the need for swift action to apprehend those responsible.

Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the incident. Sampla police station in-charge Vijendra Singh stated that a case has been registered and further actions will be taken following the post-mortem examination.

This incident has raised concerns about safety and law enforcement in the region, especially given Narwal’s political involvement and the upcoming local elections in Haryana. The Congress party continues to press for a thorough and unbiased investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
