By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu:Bureau Chief

Vijayawada – Andhra Pradesh: The Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) national leader V Srinivasa Rao launched the Anti-Caste Discrimination Society’s (KVPS) Diary 2025 at a program held at MBVK Balotsava Bhavan, Vijayawada, on Sunday, emphasizing the urgent need to combat caste discrimination and uphold social justice.

Manu dharma and Sanatana dharma criticized

V Srinivasa Rao accused the ruling powers of promoting Manu dharma and Sanatana dharma as tools to suppress marginalized communities, women, and oppressed castes. He said these ideologies are being used to propagate untouchability, caste discrimination, and atrocities, undermining the equality advocated by Ambedkar and Phule.

Opposition to caste enumeration and reservations

Rao criticized forces opposing caste enumeration and reservations, especially in the private sector. He called on KVPS to educate the public about Ambedkar and Phule’s vision of caste abolition as the pathway to equality and social justice.

Irregularities in SC sub-caste lists

Highlighting irregularities in the SC sub-caste identification lists displayed by the state government, he strongly opposed categorizing Dalits as BCs under the guise of religion. He demanded equal recognition for Dalit Christians and Hindu Dalits, stating that such actions aim to reduce SC numbers and diminish reservations.

Failure to prevent atrocities against Dalits

KVPS State General Secretary Andra Malyadri criticized both central and state governments for fostering caste discrimination. He expressed concern over continued attacks on Dalits, alleging that authorities prioritize protecting the accused over victims. He also emphasized the need for protective laws and awareness to address these injustices.

Call for constitutional protection

Malyadri warned of threats to the Constitution and public sector institutions from what he described as fanatic rulers. He reiterated demands for the dismissal of Amit Shah for his comments on Ambedkar, urging collective action to safeguard constitutional values.

The event was attended by state leaders G Nataraj, G Kranthi Kumar, Chintala Srinivas, G Arunamma, Kiran, and others. Social activist Chowkidi Krishna and several Dalit rights leaders also participated, reinforcing their commitment to social justice and equality.
