Helmets save lives: SI Nabi Rasool’s appeal

Bommanahal – Andhra Pradesh: The Bommanhal police have launched a special drive to crack down on helmet violations and educate motorists about road safety, with Sub-Inspector Nabi Rasool emphasizing the critical role of helmets in preventing fatal head injuries.

Bommanhal Police intensify helmet drive to curb road fatalities

SI Nabi Rasool stressed the urgent need for all motorists to prioritize helmet usage. He highlighted that a significant number of road accident fatalities are caused by head injuries, urging everyone to take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves. The police are actively engaged in creating awareness campaigns to reduce the occurrence of such tragedies.

Zero tolerance for helmet violations

The special drive involves a multi-pronged approach. First-time offenders are counseled on the importance of helmet usage, while subsequent violations will result in penalties. Repeat offenders face the serious consequence of license cancellation after the third offense. The police are also actively engaging with parents of underage drivers, counseling them to prevent future violations.

Dangers of traffic violations

The drive also targets other dangerous driving behaviors, including:

Triple riding: Overloading two-wheelers poses a significant risk to both riders and other road users.

Overspeeding: SI Nabi Rasool emphasized the grave consequences of prioritizing speed over safety and the importance of responsible driving.

Mobile phone use while driving: The police are actively educating motorists about the dangers of distracted driving caused by mobile phone usage.

Continuous awareness and enforcement

The Bommanhal police are employing a multi-faceted approach to educate motorists. This includes regular counseling sessions, issuing challans to violators, and consistent enforcement of traffic rules. As part of the special drive, head constables V Narendra, S Kamal Basha, Constables S Ravi Kumar, and Raj Kumar actively engaged with motorists, educating them about helmet usage and traffic regulations.
