Buddha, Ambedkar inspire youth at study conference in Chittoor

Satravada – Andhra Pradesh: The Ambedkar: Buddha Study Conference held in Satravada village, Chittoor district, brought together leaders and youth to discuss the teachings of Buddha and Ambedkar. The event emphasized social transformation, historical awareness, and the importance of staying away from alcohol.

Conference highlights historical legacy of Buddha and Ambedkar

Last Sunday, Satravada village in Nagari, Chittoor district, hosted the Ambedkar: Buddha Study Conference. The event was graced by Somaraju, District President of The Buddhist Society of India, and Parthasarathy, District President of the Republican Party of India (BA). They visited the Golden Buddha Vihara alongside local Ambedkarite youth and emphasized the relevance of Buddha and Ambedkar’s teachings in modern times.

Buddha: A historical figure, not a myth

Addressing the gathering, Somarajulu highlighted Buddha’s historical significance, stating, “Buddha is not a mythological figure; he is a historical figure who walked among us 2600 years ago.” He urged the youth to understand Buddha’s teachings with evidence and apply them to build a compassionate society.

Ambedkar’s vision and youth empowerment

The conference inspired the young participants to embrace Ambedkar’s principles of equality, education, and empowerment. Dalit Front Andhra State President Gajendran, who served as the chief guest, stressed the transformative role of Ambedkar’s vision in uplifting marginalized communities.

Anti-liquor message: Building a better society

Parthasarathy emphasized the detrimental effects of alcohol, encouraging the youth to stay away from it. He said, “Only if the youth stay away from alcohol, can they build a good society,” a message that resonated strongly with the attendees.

Distribution of Ambedkar’s biography

Ambedkar’s biography was distributed to all the youth, serving as a token of knowledge and inspiration. The event saw enthusiastic participation from village youth, led by Sandeep, who vowed to carry forward the teachings of Buddha and Ambedkar.
