YS Jagan calls for strengthening YSRCP amid rising public discontent

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu:Bureau Chief

Andhra Pradesh: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy urged YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) workers to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level, addressing increasing public dissatisfaction with the current government during a meeting with leaders from Krishna district.

Failures of governance and suppression of dissent

Speaking at the meeting, YS Jagan highlighted the systemic failures under the ruling government, accusing it of collapsing state mechanisms. He criticized the suppression of dissent, particularly through false cases filed against individuals criticizing the government on social media. “Even forwarding a post is leading to cases being filed. This has never happened before,” he said, emphasizing the growing public opposition to such tactics.

Strengthening the Party at grassroots

YS Jagan announced a new initiative, ‘Jagananna with Activists: A Direction for Party Strengthening’, aimed at revitalizing the party from the village level. He encouraged party workers to maintain their spirit of struggle during challenging times. “We must ensure that our spirit does not weaken. The lies and frauds of the current government are doubling the anger of the people,” he added.

Plans for district tours and worker engagement

Outlining his plans to connect with party workers, YS Jagan revealed he would embark on district tours after Sankranti, dedicating two days every week—Wednesdays and Thursdays—to interact with workers. “These days will be entirely for our workers. I will work with them to strategize and strengthen our party,” he said, underscoring the importance of worker engagement in party revival.

‘Let us work tirelessly for the people’

YS Jagan reassured party members of eventual success, stating, “Extreme honesty and extreme goodness might have defeated us today, but they will make us win tomorrow. After darkness, light must come—that is our hope.” He urged workers to continue serving people with honesty and dedication, reiterating, “We have not said anything wrong; we have done what we promised. Let us work tirelessly for the people.”

This meeting, held in Krishna district, served as a rallying cry for YSRCP members, inspiring them to push forward amidst growing political challenges and public discontent with the ruling dispensation.
