INSIGHT Organizes Old Age Care and Support Programme in Dhanbad

Dhanbad Area Correspondent: Indian Socio Income and Grievance Helping Trust (INSIGHT) organized an Old Age Care and Support Programme in Dhanbad on May 4, 2026, with the objective of providing basic welfare and care support to elderly persons living in vulnerable circumstances.

The programme focused on promoting the health, dignity, social inclusion and overall well-being of senior citizens. During the initiative, INSIGHT volunteers interacted with elderly beneficiaries to understand their basic needs and provide appropriate support.

As part of the programme, nutritional food and refreshments were distributed among elderly participants. Essential hygiene and personal-care materials were also provided to support their daily needs and encourage better personal hygiene.

The programme included awareness activities on healthy ageing, personal hygiene and available welfare services. Volunteers interacted with senior citizens and shared information intended to help them understand the importance of maintaining healthy habits and accessing relevant support services.

Community interaction was another important component of the initiative. INSIGHT volunteers spent time with elderly beneficiaries, encouraged social interaction and provided volunteer-led care and support. The programme aimed to help reduce social isolation and promote a sense of dignity and belonging among vulnerable senior citizens.

INSIGHT works in areas including child welfare, old-age care, women empowerment, street animal welfare and social protection of underprivileged and marginalized communities.
