INSIGHT Organizes Child Trafficking Awareness Programme in Dhanbad
Children, parents and community members sensitized about child trafficking, exploitation, safe migration and child protection
Dhanbad,Jharkhand Indian Socio Income and Grievance Helping Trust (INSIGHT) organized a Child Trafficking Awareness Programme in Dhanbad on April 5, 2026, with the objective of creating awareness among children, parents, guardians and community members about the risks associated with child trafficking, exploitation, unsafe migration and child protection.
During the programme, participants were educated about the prevention of child trafficking and exploitation. The awareness session focused on helping community members recognize potential warning signs and understand the importance of seeking appropriate assistance through lawful and responsible support mechanisms.
As part of the initiative, child-safety awareness materials were distributed among participants. INSIGHT volunteers also interacted with parents, guardians and community members to discuss child safety, protection and the importance of creating a secure environment for children.
The programme also highlighted child rights, safe migration and responsible reporting. Volunteers provided guidance on how communities can respond appropriately when they encounter situations involving suspected trafficking, exploitation or other risks to children’s safety.
The initiative aimed not only to spread awareness but also to encourage greater community participation in preventing child trafficking and protecting vulnerable children. Through direct interaction and community outreach, INSIGHT volunteers shared information and encouraged families to remain alert to potential risks.
INSIGHT works in areas including child welfare, old-age care, women empowerment, street animal welfare and social protection of underprivileged and marginalized communities.
