INSIGHT Organises Tribute Program in Durgapur on Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti

Durgapur. Area Correspondent: A tribute and honour programme was organised in Durgapur on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The programme was attended by INSIGHT President Samir Kumar Singh, Dhanshristi Bhavishya Nidhi Trust Secretary Sarita Singh, along with local social workers, activists and other dignitaries.

The program began with the garlanding of the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, followed by floral tributes. The participants remembered the contributions of both national leaders and their ideals of simplicity, truth, non-violence, honesty and service to the nation.

On the occasion, the President said that the lives of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri continue to inspire society towards truth, discipline, service and responsibility. He said that every individual should contribute to social development and extend support to people in need according to their capacity.

Sarita Singh, Secretary of Dhanshristi Bhavishya Nidhi Trust, said that the responsibility of social organisations should not be limited to organising programmes. She emphasised the need to continuously reach out to vulnerable and needy sections of society and undertake activities in the public interest.

The social workers and other participants present at the programme pledged to follow the ideals of Gandhi and Shastri and strengthen the spirit of peace, harmony and social service.

During the programme, floral tributes were offered to both great leaders, and their contributions to nation-building were remembered. The programme concluded with a message of promoting social unity, public service and community welfare.
