₹36 Lakh Gold Recovered: Burglary Gang Nabbed in Kadapa

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Kadapa District Police have arrested a house burglary gang involved in a high-value theft at Chilamakuru village in Yerraguntla mandal and recovered stolen property worth approximately Rs 36 lakh, District SP Shelke Nachiketh Vishwanath said on Tuesday.

Burglary at Chilamakuru grocery trader’s house

According to police, the burglary occurred on the night of December 21, 2025, at the residence of Dudde Ramesh Shetty, a grocery shop owner at the four-way junction of Chilamakuru village. The accused allegedly broke open the house while the family members were away and decamped with gold ornaments and valuables.

Accused arrested, juvenile offenders involved

Police arrested two accused persons and apprehended two juvenile offenders in connection with the case.

The arrested accused were identified as Yetti Vijay Pal (19), resident of Chilamakuru village, Yerraguntla mandal and Shaik Gaibu Valli (19), resident of Chilamakuru village, Yerraguntla mandal

Both are stated to have dropped out of school and were allegedly involved in repeated petty thefts before committing the burglary, police said.

Recovered Gold worth Rs 36 Lakh

Police recovered the stolen property, gold ornaments weighing approximately 210 grams and one iPhone worth about Rs 60,000.

Items used for committing the crime were also seized, including one cutting machine and three mobile phones.

The total value of recovered property is estimated at Rs 36 lakh.

Modus operandi

Police stated that the accused had been closely monitoring the movements of the complainant and his family for several days. Taking advantage of the absence of family members, the accused allegedly:

Used a cutting machine powered by an external electricity source to break the door latch
Entered the house during the evening hours
Stole gold ornaments from the cupboard

One juvenile reportedly stood watching while the others carried out the burglary.

Arrest following special police operation

Acting on the directions of the Kadapa District SP and under the supervision of the Jammalamadugu DSP, a special police team was formed to investigate Yerraguntla U/G PS Crime No. 389/2025 under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the BNS. The accused were arrested near Malepadu Cross on the Muddanur–Kadapa main road, and the stolen property was recovered from their possession.

Police Team Commended by District SP

Kadapa District SP Shelke Nachiketh Vishwanath congratulated and awarded the police personnel for their effective investigation, prompt action, and successful recovery of stolen property.

The commended officers include S Viswanatha Reddy, Inspector of Police, Yerraguntla; B Naga Murali, Sub-Inspector of Police; HCs Alfred, Obulesu, and PCs Lakshminarayana, A Shivaprasad, R Ramachandra and R Chandra.

The SP appreciated the team’s coordinated efforts and professionalism in solving the case within a short time.

Kadapa police have solved a major house burglary case in Chilamakuru village of Yerraguntla mandal with the arrest of two young offenders and the apprehension of two juveniles, leading to the recovery of stolen gold and valuables worth ₹36 lakh.

The burglary took place on the night of December 21, 2025, at the residence of grocery trader Dudde Ramesh Shetty. The accused waited until the family left the house and then forced open the door using a cutting machine connected to an external power source. They entered the house during the evening hours and stole gold ornaments from the cupboard before fleeing the scene.

After receiving the complaint, Kadapa District Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiketh Vishwanath formed a special investigation team under the supervision of the Jammalamadugu DSP. Using technical surveillance and local intelligence, police traced the suspects and arrested them near Malepadu Cross on the Muddanur–Kadapa main road.

The arrested accused were identified as Yetti Vijay Pal (19) and Shaik Gaibu Valli (19), both residents of Chilamakuru village. Two juvenile offenders were also taken into custody. Police said the group had earlier been involved in petty thefts and closely monitored the victim’s movements before executing the crime.

Police recovered 210 grams of gold ornaments, an iPhone worth ₹60,000, three mobile phones, and a cutting machine used in the burglary. The total value of the recovered property is estimated at ₹36 lakh.

The case was registered under Crime No. 389/2025 at Yerraguntla U/G Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The arrested accused were remanded to judicial custody, while the juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.

SP Vishwanath praised the investigation team for their swift action and urged citizens to remain alert and report suspicious activities to the police.
