Mala Mahanadu thanks CM Stalin, seeks SC status for Dalit Christians

Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: Leaders of the State Mala Mahanadu (Ramaji Group) welcomed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s supportive stand on inclusion of Dalit Christians in the Scheduled Caste (SC) list and urged the Andhra Pradesh government to follow suit.

Tribute to Ambedkar, thanks to Stalin

Dalit organisations and pastors garlanded Dr. B R Ambedkar’s statue near the old bus stand in Proddatur on Saturday. Addressing the gathering, Ramaji Emmanuel, National President of the State Mala Mahanadu, said CM Stalin’s response on Dalit Christian inclusion was unprecedented and deserved appreciation.

Demand for SC status in Andhra Pradesh

The Mala Mahanadu leaders demanded that Dalit Christians be included in the SC list in Andhra Pradesh as well. They appealed to Dalit groups and pastors to raise the issue strongly during Assembly sessions.

Criticism of coalition government

Speakers alleged that since the coalition government came to power, welfare schemes had stalled and no development funds were spent in Dalit localities. They questioned the unfulfilled election promises of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and warned of statewide protests if assurances were not implemented.
