Concerns raised over alleged irregularities in Achari Nagar housing plots

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: Rayalaseema Communist Party (RCP) State Secretary Ravi Shankar Reddy has alleged that housing plots allotted to the poor in Achari Nagar were taken over by influential individuals. During a visit to the area on Saturday, he claimed many purchasers already own multiple houses.

Questions over suitability of allotted land

Ravi Shankar Reddy said plots distributed during the previous government’s housing initiative were located near Sarojini Nagar and TIDCO houses. He warned that proposals to fill the Putlampalli tank for beautification could endanger houses built in the area, especially during heavy rains.

Call for inquiry and accountability

He accused local officials, including the then Tahsildar and VRO, of irregularities in plot allocation and questioned the fairness of allotting land unsuitable for housing. The RCP plans to bring the issue before the District Collector.

RCP Executive Committee members Madagalam Prasad, Vijay Kumar, Ravi, Vinod, Kondayya, and Gangayya participated in the inspection.
