AYUSH prioritizes indigenous medicine, AP board assigns data collection

Guntur – Andhra Pradesh: The Andhra Pradesh Indigenous Medical Association has been entrusted with the responsibility of collecting details of indigenous doctors and their skills across the state by the State Board of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, State General Secretary ‘Vaidya’ Namala Srinivasa Rao** said on Friday.

Revival of traditional medicine under Modi’s leadership

Rao noted that over the past decade, the AYUSH Department, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given high priority to the recognition and revival of indigenous medical practices and doctors.

Orders unveiled at working group meeting

Speaking after unveiling official orders at the association’s state office in Arundalpet, Guntur, Rao said the directive followed a state-level meeting where the Board’s CEO A Chandrasekhar expressed satisfaction with the association’s ongoing activities.

Statewide data collection drive

As per the Board’s instructions, the association will soon organize meetings in mandal centers across the districts to gather information on indigenous doctors in a prescribed format and submit it to the government.

State Executive Members PV Hanumantha Rao, K Anjibabu, P Rama Rao, KNV Srinivasa Rao, N Murali Mohan Rao and others took part in the meeting.
