Devotees’ safety top priority In Proddatur Dasara celebrations, says SP

Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: District Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath assured that devotees’ safety and security will remain the top priority during Proddatur’s grand Dasara celebrations, with coordinated efforts planned across departments.

Security review ahead of festivities

On Friday, SP Vishwanath, along with the DSP Bhavana and police officers, conducted a detailed security review to chalk out strategies for the ten-day festival. He said issues of illegal activities, crowd control, and overall safety were discussed thoroughly.

Proddatur’s special place in Dasara

The SP noted that Proddatur, often called the “second Mysore,” is the second biggest city in Andhra Pradesh known for its Dasara celebrations. With lakhs expected to participate, he said robust security arrangements are crucial to ensure smooth conduct.

Multi-departmental cooperation emphasized

According to SP Vishwanath, effective management requires collective effort. Temple committees, Roads and Buildings, health, fire, municipal departments, and civil societies were urged to extend full cooperation alongside the police.

Creating a safe spiritual atmosphere

The SP stressed that the top priority is to create a spiritual environment where devotees can participate without fear of accidents or crime. He underlined that respecting devotees’ sentiments while ensuring their safety is the guiding principle for this year’s arrangements.
