Kurnool – Andhra Pradesh: CPI (ML) New Democracy district leaders, led by M Satyanna, have called on the local government to address the lack of basic infrastructure in Yemmiganur town. During a Praja Darbar organized by MLA BV Jaya Nageshwar Reddy on Sunday, the leaders submitted a memorandum urging the immediate construction of CC roads and drainage canals to alleviate the difficulties faced by residents.

Infrastructure deficiencies in key areas

Leaders from CPI (ML) New Democracy highlighted the dire conditions in several areas of the town, including Lakshmipet, Someswar Talkies, Minority Colony, Military Colony, Sai Nagar, Sanjeev Nagar, and Sivanna Nagar. These neighbourhoods are struggling with inadequate infrastructure, with no proper CC roads and malfunctioning drainage systems. Residents in these colonies are facing severe inconveniences, and the leaders demanded urgent action.

Roads filled with potholes, residents at risk

The main road connecting Yemmiganur to Kodumuru is reportedly full of potholes, raising serious concerns about road safety. Local citizens have expressed frustration over the frequent accidents caused by the poor condition of the roads. CPI (ML) leaders urged the local government to prioritize road repairs and construction in the affected areas.

Lack of clean water causing health issues

In addition to infrastructure woes, unfiltered drinking water is reportedly being supplied to residents, leading to outbreaks of toxic fevers. The leaders requested that filtered water be provided immediately to safeguard public health.

Employment demands and justice for workers

The CPI (ML) leaders also raised employment issues, demanding the reopening of the tannery industry on Kalugatla Road to create jobs for local workers. Additionally, they called for action against Neelappa, the owner of a spinning mill, who has allegedly failed to pay pending dues to workers. Justice for the laborers was a key demand during the meeting.

Appeal for immediate action

The CPI (ML) New Democracy leaders have made it clear that resolving these infrastructure and employment challenges is crucial for the well-being of Yemmiganur residents. Their appeal to MLA BV Jaya Nageshwar Reddy stressed the need for immediate government intervention to improve living conditions in the town.

Division leaders Balaraju and Babu also participated in the program.
