81.86% Participation – Andhra Pradesh elections witness massive turnout !!!

Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh): In a press conference held today, Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena stated that Andhra Pradesh witnessed a significant voter turnout of 81.86% in the Assembly and Parliament elections held on May 13. Of this, 80.66% of votes were cast through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and 1.2% via postal ballots.
The highest polling percentage of 87.09% was recorded in Prakasam and Chittoor districts, while the lowest was 68.63% in Visakha district. Delving into constituency-wise figures, the CEO disclosed that Darshi recorded the highest turnout at 90.91%, contrasting with Tirupati’s lowest at 63.32%.
Despite delays due to rain in some areas, polling continued past 6 pm in 3,500 centers, with the last polling station closing at 2 am.
All EVMs have been safely secured in 350 strong rooms across the state, marking a successful electoral process with increased voter participation compared to previous phases.
Meena underscored the exceptional turnout, stating that this election surpassed previous phases. This level of participation reflects a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s electoral history, signaling increased civic engagement and democratic fervor among its populace.
