Jagithyala School Sealed After Alleged Assault on Dalit Student

JAGITHYALA – TS: Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu – Assistant Chief Editor: Education officials sealed the SS Model School at Pedda Nakkalapet in Dharmapuri mandal, Jagithyala, after allegations that its owner-cum-principal Salla Srinivas sexually assaulted a four-year-old student.

Demands for suspension and closure

TVYS and VBA State President Gavvala Srikanth, who visited the village and met the victim’s family, demanded immediate cancellation of the school’s recognition, if any and seizure of the premises.

He held Jagithyala DEO and Dharmapuri MEO responsible for allowing the school to function allegedly without recognition and demanded their immediate suspension. He also demanded stringent legal action against the accused as per law.

Officials act after warning of protest

Srikanth warned of a large-scale agitation if the school was not closed. Following the warning, education officials sealed the school, he said.

State President Gavvala Srikanth and District In-charge Gavvala Ajay demanded justice for the girl and strict measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
