Kadapa – Andhra Pradesh: RSF State President DM Obulesu Yadav called on the newly elected Kadapa City Mayor on Wednesday, congratulating him with a shawl while also drawing attention to pressing civic issues affecting residents across the city.
Courtesy call at Mayor’s chamber
Obulesu Yadav politely met the new Mayor at the Kadapa Municipal Corporation office and extended his congratulations on behalf of RSF. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere at the Mayor’s chamber.
Civic problems demand immediate attention
Speaking during the meeting, Obulesu Yadav urged the Mayor to prioritise the resolution of long-pending local problems. He said several colonies in Kadapa continue to face serious difficulties due to poor roads, inadequate drainage canals and non-functional street lights. He stressed the need for allocating special funds to address these basic infrastructure issues that directly impact public life.
Pension delays a major concern
Highlighting social welfare issues, Obulesu Yadav said the pension situation in the city has become alarming. Due to delays and laxity in sanctioning pensions, many eligible elderly people and widows are being deprived of their rightful benefits. He appealed to the civic administration to initiate immediate measures to ensure pensions reach all eligible beneficiaries without further delay.
Rainy season waterlogging on main roads
Obulesu Yadav also drew attention to severe waterlogging on Kadapa’s main roads during the rainy season, which disrupts traffic and daily movement. He urged the authorities to take up remedial works on a war footing to prevent recurring hardships to the public.
Mayor assures time-bound action
Responding to the concerns, the Mayor assured that he would work towards resolving 90 identified issues within the 90-day period available to him. He expressed commitment to addressing civic problems in a phased and time-bound manner.
RSF District President Shiva Kesava, City President Vamsi, Lokasatta President Devara Sri Krishna, and senior media representatives George and Gaddam Srinu, among others, were present on the occasion.
