By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Mancherial – Telangana: Hostel Welfare Officer (HWO) Mallareddy, who has dedicated 34 years to the education and welfare of tribal students in Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad, and Mancherial districts, was felicitated by colleagues, officials, and community leaders. Speakers praised his selfless service, highlighting his sacrifices for students’ futures.

Dedication over promotions

Speaking at the event, Gavvala Srikanth said Mallareddy gave up opportunities for higher posts, choosing instead to remain an HWO Grade-II and devote his career to tribal students. “He considered the children as his own and worked for their future,” Srikanth said.

Personal sacrifices for students

Even during difficult times like droughts, Mallareddy reportedly spent from his own pocket to cover students’ bus fares, emergency needs, and other expenses. Srikanth recalled that he followed the motto “I follow you,” reflecting his affection and care for students and their families.

Model officer in tribal welfare

Speakers noted that if Mallareddy had continued his service for another decade, thousands more tribal students would have benefitted. Srikanth urged other officers in the Tribal Welfare Department to emulate his dedication and win the respect of the community.

Praise for DTDO Janardhan

Srikanth also commended District Tribal Development Officer (DTDO) Janardhan, describing him as a “tribal darling” committed to students’ welfare. He pledged continued support for Janardhan, calling for collective backing from staff and community members.
