Talentica Software has announced the winners of its third remote hackathon

Editorial

PUNE: Talentica Software, an AI-native product engineering company, has announced the winners of its third remote hackathon, held from July 31 to August 2. The annual event forms part of the company’s broader initiative to cultivate an AI-first mindset among engineers and enhance AI-driven processes.

Now a flagship internal program, the hackathon attracts participants across the board—from fresh graduates to engineering managers, and even non-technical staff. After last February’s focus on multi-agent systems, this edition spotlighted automation in the software development life cycle (SDLC).

A total of 303 participants, grouped into 38 teams, competed to design original SDLC-focused systems aimed at improving speed, efficiency, and quality without replicating existing tools. Teams brought together diverse roles, including software engineers, quality analysts, DevOps professionals, architects, and UX designers.

Over 48 hours of intense collaboration, participants brainstormed, coded, and delivered innovative solutions under the SDLC Automation theme. Projects were evaluated on criteria such as relevance, level of automation, innovation, technical completeness, and performance/observability.

“Hackathons are vital for fostering cross-team collaboration, staying ahead of industry trends, and developing practical AI-native skills,” said Anindita Dey, Senior Manager – People Group. “Our participants have mastered the remote format and consistently deliver remarkable outcomes.”

Judges also emphasized the focus on real-world use cases. “We always begin with the user story,” noted Aniket Shaligram, VP of Technology. “It was inspiring to see brilliant minds align with this approach and build AI agents that deliver impactful solutions.”

The winning entry came from Team TX, which developed an AI agent capable of transforming vague or incomplete requirements into a detailed product requirements document (PRD). The system factors in budget, target market, customer base, and time-to-market considerations. The team received ₹1 lakh in gift vouchers and approval to evolve their prototype into a market-ready product.

Team QB earned the runner-up position with a solution that combined search functionality, personalized profiles using NLP, template customization, and LangChain-powered tools. Meanwhile, Team Virtual Vanguard was awarded Best Idea, and Team AIncredibles won Best Presentation.
