Yemmiganur’s new SC colony residents demand urgent infrastructure fix
By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Andhra Pradesh: Residents of the new SC colony in Yemmiganur town are grappling with hazardous living conditions due to the absence of proper roads and sewage management. CPI (ML) New Democracy district leader M Satyanna has urged government officials to intervene immediately and warned of protests if demands are not met.
Potholes, mud and flooded homes after rains
During a visit on Monday, CPI (ML) New Democracy leader Satyanna observed that even light rainfall results in waterlogging, muddy roads, and severe discomfort for the residents. He noted that elderly people and children are unable to walk safely due to the pothole-ridden paths and slush.
Health hazards and contaminated conditions
Satyanna expressed alarm that rainwater mixed with chicken waste and sewage from an open ditch had entered the colony, creating an unbearable stench and exposing residents to disease risks such as fevers and infections.
Urgent demands to local authorities
He demanded the immediate construction of CC roads in new SC Colony, SMT Colony, and Muneppa Nagar, along with a protective wall around the open drainage canal to prevent further contamination. He appealed to local MLA Jaya Nageshwar Reddy and Municipal Commissioner to personally inspect the colonies and act swiftly.
Warning of mass agitation
Warning of public protests, Satyanna said that if authorities fail to act on a war footing, CPI (ML) New Democracy and residents will launch large-scale agitations to press for the long-overdue civic infrastructure.
Support from IFTU and local residents
The inspection was supported by IFTU leaders Balaraju and Babu, along with several colony residents including Balaswamy, Nagesh, Raju, Shanthi, Lakshmi, and Sulochana, who echoed the call for urgent government intervention.
