Rajahmundry – Andhra Pradesh: The tragic murder of a tourist from Andhra Pradesh in Goa has drawn sharp criticism from tourism enthusiasts and activists, with calls to boycott the state until safety measures for tourists are strengthened. Meda Srinivas, Founding President of RPC, has urged immediate action to ensure tourist protection and justice for the victim.
Boycott of Goa resorts demanded
Meda Srinivas called on tourism enthusiasts to boycott the resort where the tragic incident occurred. He stressed that a firm stand against establishments that fail to ensure visitor safety is essential to prevent such incidents in the future.
Tourism revenue at risk
Criticizing the Goa government for failing to safeguard tourists, Srinivas warned that continued negligence could severely impact the state’s tourism-driven economy. “The government must realize that ensuring tourist safety is crucial to maintaining its financial stability,” he stated.
Lack of response from AP government
Expressing disappointment, Srinivas condemned the Andhra Pradesh government’s inadequate response to the murder. He urged the state to demand accountability from Goa authorities and take measures to prevent such incidents involving its citizens.

Fear among tourists could hurt Goa’s image
Highlighting the growing fear among travelers due to reports of attacks and murders, Srinivas cautioned that Goa’s reputation as a tourist-friendly destination is at stake. “The state must prioritize the safety of its visitors to retain its status as a premier travel destination,” he remarked.
Call to protect unity and security of tourists
Urging solidarity among tourists, Srinivas appealed for collective action to boycott unsafe destinations and push for stricter safety protocols. “Let us unite to demand justice and ensure the security of all tourists,” he said, emphasizing the need for accountability and preventive measures.
