Fadnavis, Pradhan inaugurate SVKM’s advanced education hub in Mumbai

Maharashtra: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan jointly inaugurated cutting-edge educational facilities developed by SVKM and NMIMS in Mumbai, reaffirming India’s commitment to innovation, Indian languages, and a dynamic future-ready education system.

New education complex unveiled

The newly developed Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering was inaugurated, alongside the Bhoomi Puja of SVKM’s upcoming educational complex and the new Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) building. These facilities, equipped with Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, AR-VR, and 3D Printing, are designed to elevate academic and research capabilities.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the growing importance of human capital in economic growth. Stressing that industry follows talent, he said, “We will incubate an ecosystem for the youth to lead the country.” He called for a skilled, technology-oriented workforce aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), which he praised for making the system flexible and multidisciplinary.

National Education Policy Is philosophical: Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described NEP 2020 as a philosophical and transformative framework, promoting mother tongue education, especially from classes 1 to 5. He highlighted how leading nations have succeeded through native-language education, citing Indian thinkers like Tagore and Malaviya who emphasized Indian languages even during colonial times.

Youth must lead with skills, not just degrees

Pradhan urged the youth to become job creators, not job seekers, emphasizing the value of competence over credentials in a world driven by disruptive technologies. “Our youth must leverage technology to solve real-world problems, uplift the underprivileged, and boost India’s GDP,” he said.
