CPI ML New Democracy Party demands basic amenities for villages

Yemmiganur – Andhra Pradesh: A memorandum was submitted to Bangaramma, MPDO of Yemmiganur Mandal on Monday, under the leadership of CPI ML New Democracy Party, highlighting the dire need for infrastructure improvements in 12 villages, including Kalugutla, S Nagalapuram, Kandanathi, Kadivilla, Garladinne, Thimmapuram, Pesaladinne, and Swaganur. The residents, particularly in the last colonies of these villages, face severe difficulties due to a lack of CC roads, drainage systems, and proper water management.

“When it rains, the roads are impassable, and the risk of injury is high, especially for the elderly, children, and disabled people who navigate these unsafe conditions daily,” said M Sattanna.
Failure of panchayats to address basic needs
The leaders expressed disappointment with the panchayat secretaries, accusing them of failing to address the essential infrastructure issues in these villages. The absence of CC roads and proper drainage systems has left these colonies vulnerable during monsoon seasons, with stagnant water on the roads posing a constant hazard.
Demand for CC roads and drainage systems
The petition demands immediate action to construct CC roads and drainage systems for the underdeveloped colonies in these villages. “These villages have been ignored for far too long, and it’s time the authorities take action to improve the living conditions of the people,” said S Balaraju, CPI ML leader.
Jal Jeevan Mission failing to reach villages
Also, the petition pointed out the failure of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a central government initiative meant to provide tap water connections to every household. Despite the program’s promises, many of these villages remain without access to drinking water. CPI ML leaders demanded that authorities immediately ensure the installation of taps in every house under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Leaders stand united in their demands
The petition was supported by local leaders including IFTU Secretary S Babu, Krishtappa, Ramudu, Fakhruddin, Shadrak, Narasimhulu and Veeranji, who participated in the submission. They emphasized the urgency of the situation, calling for prompt government intervention to address these longstanding issues.
