CM Chandrababu reviews Yoga Day arrangements ahead of PM visit

Andhra Pradesh: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu visited Visakhapatnam on Monday to oversee preparations for the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21, a high-profile event to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The state government is treating the occasion as a prestigious initiative, aiming for participation from five lakh people at RK Beach.

Massive gathering planned at RK Beach

Preparations are underway to host a record five lakh participants for International Yoga Day at Visakhapatnam’s iconic RK Beach. The state government is mobilizing resources and personnel across departments to ensure a smooth, large-scale event.

CM personally reviews on-ground arrangements

Chief Minister Naidu inspected arrangements along the Beach Road, including RK Beach and Andhra University Grounds. He was briefed by YogaAndhra 2025 Nodal Officer MT Krishnababu and Visakhapatnam District Collector Prasad on the logistical setup, crowd management, and safety measures.

Secretariat staff mobilized for coordination

Officials informed the Chief Minister that staff from 607 village and ward secretariats are being deployed to coordinate the arrival and participation of registered attendees. Naidu emphasized that registered participants should face no inconvenience.

Mock Yoga session mandated

The Chief Minister directed officials to organize a mock yoga session from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM prior to the main event. This exercise aims to ensure readiness and smooth execution on the day of the celebration.

Traffic and security measures tightened

Naidu stressed the importance of minimizing traffic disruptions and safeguarding the movement of the general public. Security arrangements are being heightened in view of Prime Minister Modi’s presence and that of other dignitaries.

Parking and crowd management reviewed

The Chief Minister inquired about the parking arrangements for vehicles arriving from across the state. Officials assured that designated parking zones and shuttle services are being arranged to handle the influx of participants.

Vision for a healthier Andhra Pradesh

Speaking at a special review meeting, CM Naidu reiterated the government’s vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a “Healthy Andhra Pradesh” through initiatives like Yoga Andhra 2025.
