Andhra Pradesh needs strong leadership to secure future, says RPC

Rajahmundry: The Rashtriya Praja Congress (RPC) has questioned whether Andhra Pradesh can achieve a permanent capital and meaningful development under the present rulers. Addressing a weekend party meeting at the RPC headquarters on Sunday, RPC Founding President Meda Srinivas called for a new generation of leaders to secure the state’s rightful share of guarantees from the Centre.
Unscientific division and unfulfilled promises
Srinivas alleged that Andhra Pradesh continues to suffer from the “unscientific” bifurcation of 2014, and accused the Union government of failing to deliver on the special provisions of the Reorganisation Act. He criticized state leaders for not pressing for these rights and instead relying on debt.
Failures in governance and public services
The RPC leader said people continue to face hardships with lack of jobs, poor education and health services, and weak infrastructure. He questioned the effectiveness of elected representatives, accusing them of ignoring constituency issues and prioritizing protocol and political survival over public welfare.
District reorganization sparks doubts
Srinivas raised concerns about the division of districts, questioning the rationale behind reducing their size and alleging possible political motives. He noted that the creation of new districts had generated confusion and speculated that future governments might reverse these decisions.
Need for a public movement
Declaring that “corrupt and complacent rulers” are obstructing Andhra Pradesh’s future, Srinivas urged citizens to be ready for a new public movement. “Development, security, and justice will only come when bold leaders replace today’s power-driven politics,” he said.
The meeting, chaired by RPC senior leader Pendyala Kamaraju, was attended by party members including Simma Durga Rao, Dudde Suresh, Vardhanapu Sarath Kumar, Vadapalli Jyotish, Akula Manikanth, Challa Sambasiva Rao, Challa Vamsi, Sunkara Venkata Bhaskara Ranga Rao, Alajangi Raju, Masa Appamma, Pasupuleti Veerraju, Paidimalla Esobu, Kakara Prasad, Anisetty Nirmala Ruth, Pasupuleti Susheela, Masa Kusalaiah, and others.
