By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Vijayawada – Andhra Pradesh: Meda Srinivas, General Secretary of the Journalists Democratic Rights Forum (JDRF), criticized Andhra Pradesh’s Members of Parliament (MPs) for their inaction, stating that their weaknesses have become a curse for the state’s future. Speaking at a round table meeting at MBVK Bhavan in Vijayawada on Sunday, organized by the Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Aikhya Vedika, he called for unified action against the privatization of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Call to oppose Modi government’s privatization agenda
Srinivas urged the people of Andhra Pradesh to resist the Modi government’s alleged attempts to hand over the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to private entities. He accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led alliance of prioritizing Modi’s political future over the state’s interests.

Demand for mine allocation and political unity
He emphasized that the allocation of captive mines to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is crucial for its survival. He also called for all political parties in Andhra Pradesh to unite on a common platform until the privatization plans are completely scrapped.
Protest strategy: Mass resignations from parliament
Srinivas demanded that all Andhra Pradesh MPs resign in protest against the Modi government’s unilateral decisions. He said that their collective resignation would send a strong message against what he termed as the government’s autocratic policies.
Full support for anti-privatization movement
Reaffirming his commitment to the cause, Srinivas declared that both the JDRF and RPC would extend full support to the ongoing movement to protect the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant from privatization. He stressed that public resistance and political accountability are essential to safeguarding the state’s industrial future
