Rajahmundry – Andhra Pradesh: Meda Srinivas, Founding President of Rashtriya Praja Congress, demanded strict legal and departmental action against officials of the Revenue and Municipal Corporation in Rajahmundry, holding them responsible for the recent deaths of Bhavani devotees at Pushkara Ghat.
Call for accountability
Srinivas said the loss of devotees’ lives was a result of negligence and called for those responsible to be identified and punished without delay.
Transfer of officials demanded
He urged the government to transfer officials working in the Revenue and Municipal departments of East Godavari district to other regions. He suggested appointing competent employees in Rajahmundry to ensure effective governance and safety during large gatherings.
Warning ahead of upcoming Pushkaras
