Massive ACB Crackdown: Circle Inspector’s Assets, Gold and 54 Liquor Bottles Unearthed

Vijayawada: The Anti-Corruption Bureau, Andhra Pradesh (ACB) unearthed significant assets, including a duplex house, gold ornaments, property documents and 54 full liquor bottles, during continued searches at the residence of an arrested Circle Inspector in Pulivendula Rural Circle. The searches were carried out in connection with a corruption case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Searches continue in corruption case ACB

According to the press release of the ACB headquarters in Vijayawada, the searches were conducted on February 24, 2026, as a continuation of the action initiated on February 23 in Crime No. 05/RCT-KDP/2026 of ACB, Kadapa Range.

The case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, along with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The accused officer has been identified as Nallapalli Venkata Ramana, Circle Inspector of Police, Pulivendula Rural Circle.

Duplex house, gold and documents unearthed

During the searches at the officer’s residential premises, ACB officials reportedly seized incriminating material, including property documents.

Among the assets unearthed were:

A ready-to-occupy duplex house located in Nandyala
Approximately 200 grams of gold ornaments
Valuable household articles

Officials stated that the material seized would form part of the ongoing investigation to determine the extent and source of the assets.

54 liquor bottles seized; separate case to be registered

In addition to the assets, 54 full liquor bottles were found and seized during the search operations. The seized liquor has been handed over to the concerned Prohibition and Excise Department authorities for registering a separate case under the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act against the accused officer.

Investigation in progress

The ACB clarified that further investigation into the corruption case is underway to ascertain additional details regarding the alleged offences and the assets discovered during the raids.

Public urged to report corruption

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has appealed to citizens to report instances of bribery or corruption to their respective district ACB officers.

The seized liquor has been handed over to the concerned Prohibition and Excise Department authorities. A separate case is expected to be registered under the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act in connection with the liquor found at the premises.

The ACB clarified that the investigation is still in progress and that further details regarding the extent of the alleged corruption and additional assets, if any, will emerge as the probe continues.
