Ranchi: In an effort to strengthen voter awareness and ensure the dissemination of accurate electoral information, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jharkhand, organized the State Level Creators Meet 2026 in Ranchi on Saturday. The event brought together digital content creators from across the state through both online and offline participation.
A total of 70 selected digital creators received specialized training on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. At the conclusion of the programme, participants were awarded certificates recognizing their contribution toward voter awareness initiatives.
Social Media Emerges as a Powerful Tool for Voter Awareness
Addressing the gathering, Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar emphasized the growing influence of social media in reaching voters with timely and factual information.
He said digital creators today command the attention and trust of millions of viewers, making them vital partners in promoting electoral awareness. He urged creators to share only verified, authentic, and fact-based information so that voters receive accurate guidance regarding the electoral revision process.
“The responsibility of digital creators is not merely to create engaging content but also to strengthen democratic participation through credible information,” he said.
Door-to-Door Verification Begins June 30
The CEO announced that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct a statewide door-to-door verification drive from June 30 to July 29 as part of the Special Intensive Revision.
During the campaign, BLOs will distribute two partially pre-filled Enumeration Forms to every eligible voter. Citizens will be required to complete one copy and return it to the BLO, while the second copy should be retained as an acknowledgement receipt for future reference.
According to the CEO, voters who successfully submit their Enumeration Forms during the verification process will have their names included in the Draft Electoral Roll, scheduled for publication on August 5.
Most Voters Will Not Need Additional Documents
Clarifying concerns regarding documentation, K. Ravi Kumar stated that most voters will not be required to submit additional supporting documents while filling out the Enumeration Form.
He explained that voters whose records have already been mapped in the electoral database will complete the verification process through routine procedures without any extra paperwork.
However, in cases where voter details cannot be verified through existing records, the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will issue notices requesting relevant documents. Eligible citizens who submit the required documents within the prescribed period will subsequently have their names included in the final electoral roll.
“No Eligible Voter Will Be Left Out”
Reiterating the Election Commission’s commitment to inclusive democracy, the CEO referred to Article 326 of the Constitution of India, stating that the objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to ensure that no eligible Indian citizen is excluded from the electoral roll, while preventing the inclusion of ineligible entries.
He appealed to digital creators to actively produce awareness videos, educational content, and fact-based information related to the SIR campaign. He also encouraged them to utilize awareness materials available on the official social media platforms of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office.
Senior Election Officials Participate
The programme witnessed the participation of several senior election officials, including Additional Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar, State Training Nodal Officer Devdas Dutta, Deputy Electoral Officer Dheeraj Kumar Thakur, Deputy Electoral Officer Sanjay Kumar, and Assistant Electoral Officer Sunil Kumar Singh.
Digital creators representing various districts across Jharkhand also attended the event, reflecting the Election Commission’s collaborative approach to expanding voter education through digital platforms.
Strengthening Democracy Through Digital Engagement
The State Level Creators Meet 2026 highlights Jharkhand’s growing emphasis on leveraging digital media to promote voter participation and electoral transparency. By partnering with online creators, the Election Commission aims to combat misinformation, improve public awareness, and encourage greater citizen participation in the democratic process ahead of the upcoming electoral roll revision.
