Demand for underpass to prevent accidents on Vadarevu-Nakarikallu bypass

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Guntur – Andhra Pradesh: Social activist Madasu Bhanu Prasad has demanded that an underpass be constructed on the newly developed Vadarevu–Nakarikallu bypass road between Pasumarru and Injanampadu villages, citing faulty road design as the cause of a recent fatal accident that claimed two lives.

Inspection of accident-prone road

Bhanu Prasad, along with residents of Pasumarru and Injanampadu villages, inspected the spot where two women lost their lives in a tragic road accident. He said the incident occurred due to design flaws in the newly constructed bypass, which has become a danger zone for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Call for immediate safety measures

The social activist demanded that authorities take corrective steps to prevent further mishaps, including constructing an underpass, redesigning the road layout, and installing visible warning and direction signboards at crucial points. He said such preventive measures are essential to protect the lives of commuters and villagers using the road daily.

Authorities urged to act swiftly

Bhanu Prasad criticized the inaction of officials despite frequent road accidents occurring across the state, resulting in dozens of deaths every month. He said he would bring the matter to the attention of National Highways authorities and the District Collector to ensure immediate intervention and accountability.

Local representatives join the visit

Injanampadu village sarpanch Tubati Balakrishna, along with villagers from Pasumarru and Injanampadu, participated in the inspection and extended their support to the demand for an underpass and improved road safety measures
