Government school teacher leads by example, inspires trust through action

By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Devagiri – Andhra Pradesh: In an era where private and corporate schools dominate even in remote villages, a government school teacher in Andhra Pradesh is setting a powerful example. Nandyala Narasimha Reddy, a Physics teacher at Devagiri ZP High School, is not only advocating for government education but also practicing what he preaches by enrolling his own son in the school where he teaches.

Walking the talk: A teacher’s commitment to government education

Amid declining enrollments in government schools due to the growing influence of private institutions, Nandyala Narasimha Reddy, a Physics teacher in Devagiri village, Bommanahal mandal, Anantapur district, is challenging the tide. While many seek private schooling for their children, Narasimha Reddy and his wife—also a teacher—have consistently educated their two children in government schools from the very beginning.

He has recently enrolled his son Ishaanth Reddy in Class 6 at Devagiri ZP High School, reinforcing his belief in the quality of government education. “It is my belief, motto, and principle that students should be educated in government schools because I studied in a government school and became a teacher,” Reddy told WAR-TIMES.

“I got the opportunity to educate many people because of studying in a government school,” he added.

Setting an example for fellow teachers and parents

Narasimha Reddy’s commitment is not just personal—it is an inspiration to the teaching community. Many fellow teachers and parents in the region are now encouraged by his actions. Education department sources report a 10% increase in the number of teachers’ children enrolled in government schools this year compared to last year.

“Some teachers are taking the initiative with the idea that if their own children are not educated in the schools where they work, then why should other children be?” noted one senior teacher.

By educating their children in government schools, teachers like Narasimha Reddy are rebuilding public trust, showing that government institutions are not only capable but also preferable in terms of both educational quality and accessibility.

Headmistress applauds teacher’s decision

Devagiri ZP High School Headmistress Narasety Radha praised Reddy for being a model educator. Speaking to WAR-TIMES, she said, “Our teacher’s decision to enroll his son in a government school is an example for everyone. His belief and motto will surely inspire other teachers and parents alike.”

She further emphasized the broader impact, stating, “Parents must recognize the talent and effective teaching methods in government schools and confidently admit their children here.”

“The government’s investment of thousands of crores in education is beginning to show real results,” said HM Radha. “With a focus on competency-based teaching, improved infrastructure, and inclusivity, government schools are now standing shoulder to shoulder with private institutions. Education will be truly accessible to all only through government schools.”

Why government schools deserve a second look

Narasimha Reddy cited multiple reasons why he continues to choose government schools over private alternatives:

“Government schools have qualified, trained teachers who understand both pedagogy and child psychology.”

“Children of all backgrounds receive quality education through our teaching.”

“Infrastructure in government schools has improved significantly in recent years.”

Inspiring a movement within the teaching community

Reddy’s decision has been warmly welcomed by fellow educators, who say such examples can change public perception.

“This should inspire every teacher,” said one of his colleagues. “It is not just about where you work, it is about believing in the system you represent.”

By boldly placing his trust in the very system he serves, Nandyala Narasimha Reddy is not just teaching physics—he is igniting renewed faith in government education.
