State power: The key to true liberation and justice
By Doruvu Paul Jagan Babu: Assistant Chief Editor

Throughout history, state power has determined the fate of nations and communities. It is the source of honor, influence, and justice. Without it, aspirations remain unfulfilled, and injustices persist. The need for state power is not a mere political ambition; it is a historical necessity for those who seek true equality and democratic empowerment. As Dr. B.R. Ambedkar rightly recognized, acquiring state power is the only path toward social and economic justice.
The role of state power in shaping nations
The great visionaries of the past did not merely theorize about state power; they emphasized its indispensable role in ensuring the survival and progress of a nation. Today, we can clearly witness its impact. Without state power, communities remain vulnerable to oppression, inequality, and exclusion. A nation that fails to secure political influence is bound to face setbacks and struggles.
The power and influence of state authority
Every form of honour, respect, and societal progress is intrinsically linked to state power. The absence of strong aspirations for political control and an understanding of its value leads to numerous misfortunes. To remain indifferent to state power is to accept subjugation. It is imperative to recognize its significance and work towards attaining it.
A deserving nation must claim state power
The right to governance is not exclusive to a privileged few; it must belong to those who have historically fought for justice and equality. The only true weapon for achieving state power is the vote—a diamond-like tool that must be used wisely. Keeping this invaluable right unused or misdirected is a grave historical error. The future depends on how we exercise this fundamental democratic power.
Ambedkar’s vision and political legacy
Dr. B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, understood the supreme importance of state power. His political journey and his establishment of three key political parties—the Independent Labour Party (ILP), the All India Scheduled Caste Federation (AISCF), and the Republican Party of India (RPI)—underscore his commitment to securing state power for marginalized communities. His tireless struggles were not merely ideological but deeply rooted in the necessity of political control for real social transformation.
State power as the foundation of equality and justice
If the society Ambedkar envisioned is to be realized, the only path forward is through political empowerment. His every word and action revolved around state power because he recognized its immense influence. The question remains: Are we determined and resolute enough to claim it? Without state power, constitutional rights and equal opportunities remain unattainable dreams.

Essential reforms for a just society
Beyond the Constitution, there are critical reforms that must be pursued to establish true equality:
1. Nationalization of land: Ensuring fair access to land ownership for all.
2. State-controlled industries: Placing industries under government jurisdiction to prevent exploitation.
3. Equal distribution of resources:* A system where wealth and resources benefit all, not just the privileged few.
4. Protection of democracy and constitutional rights: Keeping governance in the hands of those who truly uphold democratic values.
State power: The catalyst for change
Unresolved issues and long-standing grievances can only be addressed through political authority. To achieve justice, dignity, and equal rights, state power must be in the hands of the deserving. True liberation from oppression and social evils is only possible when we claim political and administrative power. It is not just about rhetoric; it is about action and determination.
A call to action
The time has come to embrace Ambedkar’s vision and work towards acquiring state power. If we desire a future free from injustice and inequality, we must understand the necessity of political control. It is not merely about holding positions of power but about ensuring that governance serves the true interests of the people. Recognizing this truth is the first step; acting upon it is the ultimate duty. Let us unite, vote wisely, and shape the future with the power that rightfully belongs to us.
