Veteran Actor Satish Shah Passes Away at 74 Found Unresponsive at Home Last Rites Tomorrow

Veteran actor Satish Shah, renowned for his roles in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 74. According to P.D. Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai, Shah was found unresponsive at his residence and despite immediate CPR efforts, he could not be revived .

Earlier in the day, Shah had texted fellow actor Sachin Pilgaonkar, indicating he was feeling well. He had undergone a kidney transplant recently, reportedly to care for his ailing wife, highlighting his deep devotion.

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed Shah’s passing, describing it as a significant loss to the industry. Rajesh Kumar, who portrayed his on-screen son in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, expressed profound grief, stating it felt like losing his own father.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned Shah’s death, praising his iconic performances and wit, and offering condolences to his family and admirers .

Satish Shah’s last rites are scheduled for Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Pawan Hans Cremation Ground, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai
