Peddakaduburu – Andhra Pradesh: AIKMS District General Secretary M Satyanna has demanded urgent resolution of farmers’ issues in drought-affected Peddakaduburu mandal. On Monday, he submitted a memorandum to the local tahsildar, seeking immediate government intervention.
Unfulfilled promises and pending compensation
Satyanna criticized the state government for failing to deliver on its electoral commitments. Despite declaring Peddakaduburu as a drought-affected mandal, he said farmers had not yet received compensation for losses incurred during the Kharif and Rabi seasons.
Demand for financial aid under NTR Rythu Bharosa
He urged the government to provide farmers with Rs 20,000 under the NTR Rythu Bharosa scheme and ensure fair crop prices. He also accused agricultural officials of neglecting their responsibility to secure remunerative prices for farmers.
Call for subsidized seeds and fertilizers
Satyanna stressed the need for subsidized seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides for farmers in drought-hit regions, calling on the government to take immediate action.
AIKMS leaders Hanumanthana, Pedda Reddy, IFTU leaders S Balaraju, Babu, and PYL leader Muneppa were among those who participated in the protest, expressing solidarity with farmers’ demands.
