Grand Buddhist wedding in Satravada witnesses community leaders’ participation

Satravada – Chittoor: A traditional Buddhist wedding was celebrated in Satravada, Nagari Pattanna, Chittoor district, bringing together prominent community activists and community leaders. The wedding of Upasaka Stalin, brother of law student Sandeep, and Upasaka Anjudapriya was attended by Samata Sainik Dal South India President Rangerla Rajesh as the chief guest.
Tribute to Ambedkar before ceremony
Before the wedding, Rangerla Rajesh paid tribute to Dr. B R Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at the Govinda Swamy Temple Circle in Satravada. Addressing young Ambedkarite followers and Buddhist devotees, he emphasized the significance of Ambedkar’s teachings in strengthening social justice movements. He also performed an Ambedkar-themed song to engage and inspire the audience.

Traditional wedding ceremony
Following the tribute, Rajesh attended the wedding at Padmavati Kalyana Mandapam, where he blessed the newlyweds and delivered a speech highlighting the importance of Buddhist traditions in modern times. The event marked a significant moment in the local Buddhist community, reinforcing cultural values and unity.
Several leaders participated in welcoming Rajesh, including Chittoor District Republican Party of India President Parthasarathi, local leaders from Satravada, and Buddhist devotees Umapati, Bhimarao, Ezil, and Ellappa. Samata Sainik Dal Andhra Pradesh State Vice President Amur Sudhakar was also present, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings in promoting social cohesion and Buddhist heritage.
